Linda Blair

Linda Linda LindaWhen she was just five Linda Blair had to be accustomed to being in being in the spotlight. First as a child model and then acting as a actress. When out of a field of nearly 600 candidates she was chosen for the role of Regan, the child that was possessed, in The Exorcist (1973). Linda quickly rose to global fame, and was awarded the Golden Globe, and seemed to be set to take her first Academy Award for that role until it became known that certain parts of the role did not get done by the actress herself (the evil voice was created by Mercedes McCambridge, and eight seconds from a stunt dummy employed) the film was cancelled, and with that disappointment probably came the first blow that could have been the beginning of an A-list career. Over the next few years, she was in a position to get lead part in a range of movies. These included the successful television films Born Innocent and Sarah T. Sarah T. Portrait of a Teenage Alcoholic as well as Exorcist II - The Heretic. In the end, she was pushed by her peers into buying cocaine when she was just of 18 it triggered being arrested and later sentenced to three years probation. This highly-publicized drug bust led Linda to be blacklisted in Hollywood which slowed her progress. Her career was soon reduced to B-movies with occasional appearances as a guest
